The Roos family sure had a busy Sunday. First up was the primary program for Kylie and Clara's kids. Mitch, the oldest, is out of primary and didn't have to participate. Rindy and Toby, though, at eleven and eight still had to sit on the stand and have their turn at the pulpit. Rindy, leaving Primary for Young Women when she turns twelve in October, was aksed to give a talk to close out the program. It was a wonderful talk on the importance of families to end the program well.
Then it was over to Rick and Jenny's ward where their newest addition, Zoey, was blessed. All the Roos children were there, minus one, and all their kids, plus cousin Julie and many members of Jenny's family. Rick gave a beautiful blessing, and after we all headed over to their house for some food. Zoey is adorable and her parents couldn't be prouder.
Sorry there aren't any pics, but I didn't have my camera. Head over to Rick and Jenny's blog to read about the day and see some pics, rooslife.blogspot.com.

Reunion 2009: Luau in Blackfoot
We started doing an Eldon and Erma Perkes family reunion in 2005. It's always the last Saturday in July at the same park in Blackfoot. Even though our numbers have been getting smaller every year, this year was a good turn out, noted by the on-time (early some might say) arrival of Trudy and Vinn! And once all the sisters were there it was time to eat. Junior made some excellent ham and delicious potato salad, Terry brought her fabulous cake, and there was plenty of food for all.
After lunch (and the obligatory go-around-and-say-who-you-are) Sharon had a prize drawing for the kids and adults. Will was pretty excited for all these suckers;
the Hamms made out like bandits with both Eric's kids, Grant and Blake, winning something;
Debra is looking pretty pleased with winning the survival kit--
and Kim got the Grand Prize, a fabulous pitcher:
And for all the other kids there was the fishing pond, a yearly tradition that all the kids
anticipate as eagerly as Santa Clause. Perhaps not, but it's still the biggest attraction for the kids.
Once the food was settled and the fish pond dried up, it was time for softball, a long-standing tradition of Perkes Girls.
Even the sisters got their turn at bat:
The heat was bearing down and the kids needed something to cool them off. What better than a slip'n slide!
Some other pics from the day.
Lookin' forward to seeing everyone again next year!

This is Julie, Pam's daughter. After our last reunion I got to thinking that it's so hard to keep up with all my cousins and what they're doing, how many kids they have, where they're living, etc. So I've set up this blog to keep us better connected. I'm hoping to get help from others in the family with posting and pictures. Maybe we can do a monthly spotlight on a different family, tell old stories about those crazy Perkes girls when they were young, share some photos--old and new, and basically just get the 411 on everyone.
So here we go...
